Overview:

Wryn is simultaneously a self-righteous shrew and the sweetest person you will ever meet. Staunchly loyal to her friends, she will move heaven and earth to help them when they need her. Cross her, however and she is one to be recokned with. Blessed with a razor sharp wit and an even sharper mind, she is the self-designated head of the servants in the household even though Barin officially holds the title.

Wryn, like many of the servants was born and raised within the Curlynn Castle and has never been outside of its walls for any considerable distance or amount of time. Her mother died in childbirth and King Atnas and Queen Awran, knowing their only son Prince Twynador would likely never have any siblings and for other reasons that currently remain unknown, allowed Wryn and Twynador to play together as children; an arrangement which keeps them close friends into their adulthood and which gives Wryn ample liberties she otherwise would not enjoy.

Since she reached puberty, Wryn has been plagued by the same nightmare each night. Though lucid, she is unable to control what happens in the nightmare, and she is prevented from remembering each morning.

After having the task of being Princess Diamond's personal maidservant taken from her by Twynador, Wryn now spends her time temporarily tending the Queens of Kale, Queen Tryra VanOrden Sapphiero and Queen Riannon Flare Sapphiero. All of her remaining free time has been spent happily with Justin as the two of them grow closer.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Wryn will sometimes address Twynador by his given name. When she does this, she is no longer talking to him as a servant to royalty, but from one friend to another. Until recently, she was the only one given this priveledge. However, as Twynador's duties have grown, those directly helping Wryn, namely Alora have been extended this priveledge as well.

Wryn's eye color and hair color are extremely rare in the land of Curlynn, as is the mark on her back.

Wryn has a very strong affinity for giving others a hard time, which is her way of being intimidating despite her short stature.  

Wryn is very capable of doing magic and has on occassion without meaning to.

Alora

Overview:

Alora is the Abbot to Wryn's Costello...or is it the other way around? Nearly inserparable from Wryn, she has been good friends with the younger tigress since childhood. Unlike Wryn, Alora, though well known does not have many friends, due in part to her tendency to push away those that might get close to her. Her tendency for low self-esteem and low self-confidence keep her introverted around all save those who know her best.

Alora is given a lot in the way of liberties mostly because she is such close friends with Wryn it's nearly impossible to let Wryn get away with something and stop Wryn from letting Alora get away with it too. It's in this way that Alora began to get to know Twynador at all.

Now, with Wryn tending to the Queens of Kale the burden of serving as Twynador's personal maidservant has fallen on Alora and she makes no bones about being completely nervous about it, despite Twynador's attempts to put her at ease. She's only now slowly beginning to feel comfortable around the Prince and count him as a friend, rather than just royalty.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Alora's fur color was because she had brown eyes and black hair, and I needed to make her stand out.

Her hair is, in actuality extremely wavy and fluffs up extremely easily, and not so tame as I draw it to be.

Alora at one time had a relationship with Barin.

She is deathly afraid of horses, and won't approach one unless she absolutely has to.

Twynador

Overview:

Twynador is generally very difficult to describe because there is his public, royal persona and his private one. In public, Twynador is the perfect Crown Prince: astute, attentive, just and graceful. He is most of these things in private as well, but only those who get close to him see him for who he really is: a shy man who dislikes confrontations and dislikes injustice more. Because of his dislike for confrontations, in private Twynador will often puzzle over an issue for many days until he reaches a completely equitable soloution for all parties involved.

The only child of King Atnas and his late wife, the Queen Awran he grew up with Wryn, playing with her as a child and becomming good friends with her in adulthood, appointing her his personal maidservant at the age of 13 so that they could spend more time together. Whether or not this was a good thing still has yet to be determined, as it is Twynador who is decidedly the more devious of the duo.

As of late, with his father ill and on near permenant bedrest, Twynador has been taking over the duties of court more and more, filling in for his father. The increased responsibility on his end necessitated Wryn recieving help with tending to him, and though he already had a warm friendship with Barin he found Alora a stranger, and has been working to become friends with her, work that is only now beginning to bear fruit.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Twynador sees Wryn more as a sister than as another woman, and treats her like a younger sister as well.

His hair color is quite rare within the lands of Curlynn, and is considered quite exotic.

Though he wears it because he is royalty, he despises the color purple.

Barin

Overview:

At first glance, Barin really does seem to get the short end of the stick as he seems constantly harassed by Wryn, Alora, and even Twynador has, on the odd occasion given Barin quite the hard time. What is unseen, however, is the respect that underlies all of the teasing. Barin is, literally the backbone of the castle, making sure duties are assigned and carried out and seeing to the day to day details of the running of the castle.

He is very detail-oriented and driven, but possesses that rare quality of caring about those under his stead as well. It is this combination that garners him so much respect and admiration from everyone who comes in contact with him. Though quiet, Barin is observant, and constantly assessing and re-assessing any given situation to adapt to it as needed. He works better when he is in the background and he likes it that way, preferring to let others such as Wryn take the spotlight.

Recently he's been stepping up in helping Alora with her duties with Twynador, as well as helping to prepare for the enagagement banquet for the Princess Diamond, a task that has put him in more contact with Justin, a fellow servant he has come to admire and consider a good friend.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Barin only takes the teasing in stride because he's well aware that they respect him so much.

The "Fountain" incident involved a six year old Barin pushing a five year old Wryn back into a fountain they both were playing in, and Wryn stealing his clothes and running away in retaliation.

Though he would never admit it to her, he does care about Alora very much and wouldn't say no if she offered to get back together.

Justin

Overview:

Justin is one of that rare breed that can deal with someone like Diamond and somehow resist becoming bitter, jaded and mean-spirited. In fact, if anything, dealing with Diamond has made him kinder and more soft spoken as he understands the impact that words and negative emotions have on everyone involved. Justin is Diamond's primary manservant-while the day to day tasks are left to Vyncent, the important tasks are done by Justin, whose efforts keep Diamond's life on course.

Justin is soft spoken and very kind, rarely becomming angry and even more rarely staying that way. For him to hold a grudge takes either actual effort or a supreme lack of good judgement on the offending party's part. To that end, Justin holds a grudge against one person only, though it is with very good reason. Pushing Justin to his breaking point is never a very smart idea, and he has been known to "handle" those making his life or the lives of those he cares about miserable-a process which usually culminates in the offender's speedy departure from Trevindor Palace.

It is his usual good temperment, however that often keeps Diamond in check as he calmly and softly explains events or counters her tantrums, though this is a task that has become more difficult with time. It is also his good temperment that has kept him alive throughout his years of service with Diamond as he has made investments of his own time and energy to ensure the safety of those around him. These sacrafices are often made without Diamond's knowledge or consent, and usually on behalf of some poor servant who has been singled out by Diamond for punishment without cause.

Though he has been keeping very vigilent in his duties, he has also been courting Wryn in the "old style", as a gentleman would. All of his free time has been spent with her and they have shared many long and in depth conversations. Only recently have the actual consequences of his closeness to Wryn been revealed, as Diamond has noticed, and now has charged him with a task he very much does not wish to do. However, at the same time, he knows he has no choice.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

The one thing Justin cannot stand is when a man forcibly puts his hands on a woman-that is something he won't forgive and one of the few reasons he will strike another person.

The affection that runs between him and Wryn is turning into more than a simple crush, and to that end, he is quickly reaching the point where he would do anything to ensure her happiness and safety

Justin has been making it a point to get to know the servants of Curlynn castle as, once the betrothal goes through as planned, they will be working together on a permanent basis.

Diamond

Overview:

Diamond is much more than your typical spoiled princess. While she is, in fact, spoiled and vain and quite vindictive, she is also very intelligent and quick to put two and two together-an attribute that hinders her more than it helps her given her current temperment. In all honesty, Diamond does not purposefully set out to be the way she is (normally). Much of her personality is the result of elitism and poor parenting.

An only child, Diamond (unlike Twynador) was expressly forbidden to interact with children of any other social class, even that of the nobility directly beneath them on the social scale. Given everything in the world she wanted and told that she owed the world nothing-indeed, if anything the world owed her everything-she grew up with the notion that she was the most important person in the world and cared little for those around her, even her parents.

The only exception to this was, and still is, Twynador, whom she does deeply and genuinely love as he is the only one to ever show her true kindness and anything resembling affection. It is because of him, and him alone that she is actually happy with the betrothal, and he is the only one to whom she will currently defer.

She is, however, very jealous of him, and by extension those who get to spend a lot of time with him, including Wryn. Wryn's recent "unfair" conduct to cease being Diamond's maidservant has not endeared her to Diamond, and she is now on the lookout for any means to get back at Wryn-a process facilitated by the all too eager Vyncent. This recently has come to fruition as Diamond has commanded Justin to effective remove Wryn from the castle before she, herself, does so. Her exact reasons for wanting Wryn gone are not known, however it's likely a good guess that jealousy comes into play.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Diamond is not entirely sure that there isn't "something" going on between Twynador and Wryn, making her all the more jealous.

The only two people in whom Diamond has explicit trust is Twynador and Justin.

Diamond's eye color is not native to her home country of Trevindor-it is native to Curlynn.

Vyncent

Age: 22

Overview:

Vyncent is conniving, arrogant, and sneaky. His good points aside, however, Vyncent is one who could be a lot of use to a lot of people, if he chose to use his god-given gifts for good instead of for his own gain. Always looking out for his own best interests, he will do nearly anything to get what he wants, drawing the line only when getting caught would mean getting in more trouble than he's willing to delve into at that time.

He was not born a servant to Diamond, rather was "drafted" into being one after attempting to cheat a noble out of a very valuable item. Proving himself intelligent and reliable, he rose through the ranks until he was appointed Diamond's personal manservant. He relished the high position and the prestige and power that came with it until a few other servants, fed up with being stepped on by him, began to undermine his efforts, throwing his reliability into doubt.

He was on thin ice already when he asked for the opportunity to go to Curlynn to prepare for Diamond's arrival there, and the events once she arrived have all but shattered his reputation. Recently, however he's been given a reprieve out of necessity and sent back to his duties, with the added task of gathering information on Wryn to deliver to Diamond. This, Vyncent does happily, eager to see Wryn humiliated and hurt-a feeling intensified, and complicated by his attraction to her.

Quirks/Fun Facts:

Vyncent and Justin do, indeed have a history that involves Vyncent's inability to take "No" for an answer from someone Justin cares for very much.

Vyncent bears no loyalty to Diamond beyond what is necessary, and would gladly sell her out if it meant something for him.

In actuality, Vyncent is very jealous of the friendships and freedoms that the servants in Curlynn seem to posess.
